A House Built

Proverbs 31:18

“She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.”

Safe spaces

It’s been a long day…

  • When it comes to decorating and designing a home, women enjoy creating a “safe space”; one where she, and/or her family can relax. God expects us to create an environment of peace and harmony. Whether we are single or married, we all need a place to come home to after a long day. Interior Design is a natural process to fill every space with our “things” from the past and present. But not all of us are designers, so we need a little help choosing colors, furniture and all the necessary items to not only create a beautiful look but also a peaceful flow to it all.

  • Peace, sure-footedness, and rest are God’s intention for our homes. He declares that our dwelling places are meant to be safe sanctuaries. Whenever conflict arises, or anxiety enters, lovingly return to this promise.  Let prayer and God’s presence restore peace to your home.  When the world is falling apart on the outside, transforming your home into a peaceful place is so important mentally and spiritually.

Special place

I need to escape Lord…

  • We all have that one “room” where we can retreat to and escape the noise and drama (especially if you have children and/or a husband). We must be able to have these quiet times with God and ourselves to recharge our mind and body. In my experience, women wear so many “hats” and literally run their households, while at the same time, some are going to a full time job as well. No wonder we are all exhausted; it’s just too much for one person to handle and negative thoughts can creep in when we get tired or frustrated.

  • In these moments we need to rely on God and His word regarding peace and solitude. It isn’t selfish when you need time to yourself away from all the distractions; it’s a requirement. The weight of the world can push us down continuously and we need to stay strong. God will always be there for us and as long as we continue to follow and trust in Him, peace will eventually overcome the situations. Don’t ever let go of His hand; He will lead and guide you in every way. He is our Good Shephard and it is His voice that we listen to and no other.
