Peace
Proverbs 31:11-12
“The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.”
Peaceful living
Too tired to think…
Regardless if you are married or single, peace is a part of our lives that we desperately need, but due to life’s precarious moments, we rarely achieve it. It seems to come at us in so many directions that we feel like we spend more time running through routines and schedules, that by the end of the day, we are either exhausted (especially if you have children) or distracted by everything that blows past us.
As a woman, we wear many different “hats”and we can multi-task several things all at once. It’s a gift that God gave us intentionally and when used properly, it is to our advantage. I know as an Interior Designer for over 22 years, that I have burned that so called “candle” at both ends and even completely OUT most times, because of all the demands that I have had with clients. Juggling a household with children and a husband can be the same, if we don’t stop ourselves and take a break.
We almost have to“add” Peace into our daily routine to remind ourselves to relax. A woman’s brain will never shut off it seems (even when we sleep-that is the worst), because we do so much during the day. We can get burned out and run down if not careful, so we must stay close to God and prayer when it seems like there aren’t enough hours in the day to accomplish everything.
Women create the harmony
Quiet time with God is necessary…
Keep in mind that as a mother, a wife or a single woman, we will always be the “attitude of the room”. Why? Because we regulate the calm, the harmony and the balance. So, it is vitally important for us to create that safe, peaceful, happy home that God wants us to have. But it can be difficult and expectations at an all-time high, especially with kids running around and a husband.
Sometimes we feel like we can’t get it all done and it’s impossible to please everyone. The important thing is that we don’t have to. We can have our quiet time with God whether it’s early in the day or late at night; we must and we should spend time in the Word. It grounds us and keeps us focused on His insight, patience and love. God knows our days are filled with chaos and distractions, but once you get in the habit of seeking out Jesus, He will tell you what to do in every situation and with every person in your life.
Rest assured, your family will thank you and you will be a much more resilient individual when you do. If all you have is 10 minutes, start with that. Find a place that is quiet and uninterrupted where you can collect your thoughts and hear God’s voice. He speaks to us all day, every day, but we don’t always hear Him due to all the constant noise surrounding us.
He wants us to spend time with Him because we grow, gain understanding and learn more and more about ourselves and Him in the process. It makes going through the day much easier and with more clarity. God wants you to have a life lived to the fullest and that includes being at peace. You experience the peace of God when you come to Him in humility and accept the blessings He has to offer. Your family will thank you in the end. You are the guiding light to them and God is your light to YOU!
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
