Joy Cometh

Proverbs 31:30

“Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.”

Distractions are everywhere

Must stay organized and focused…

  • As Christian women, we live in a modern world where temptations and distractions seem to get in the way of our purpose. Staying focused can be especially difficult when many different tasks pop up unexpectedly. Life can pull us away from our calling and get us sidetracked. Before we know it, too much time has been wasted on “material” things and/or “material” thinking.

  • A “woman that feareth the Lord…” doesn’t mean that you are afraid to do something or God will punish you. “Fearing the Lord” is another way of saying “respecting the Lord and His will”. A woman that lives this way is comfortable and at ease when it comes to following God. Her plans are orderly and disciplined, knowing that she has a goal to achieve and a path to follow; not allowing the world to interfere and overwhelm her. Easier said than done, right? Following God is never an easy task, it takes a lifetime and then some, to get it right. Thank goodness we have eternity.

Keep going forward

Nothing is wasted with God…

  • God knows that we are not perfect (only Jesus is) and that we live in an imperfect world with all of its demands, pulling us away from the journey we are on and certainly away from God. But He sees the struggles we go through, and as a loving Father would naturally do concerning this… He “praises” us! Sounds strange doesn’t it, but He praises His children for all of our efforts and determination to keep going when everything around us is trying to get in the way, intentionally or unintentionally.

  • Have you ever started your week with all of your goals lined up, only to have everyone and everything interrupt your plans, get you off track and now it’s Sunday and you haven’t done a fourth of what you set out to do? It happens to us all of the time, but God sees your efforts knowing these things. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Start over again on Monday. You have the right intentions, so keep going.

  • Your Righteousness stands before God and your favor is high with Him. To be recognized in the sight of God is far greater than having the world see you. The world is only temporary in its approval. They like you today, and then tomorrow you are at the bottom of the bird cage, so we can’t rely on the win or lose method, because with God, we always win! He is our greatest adversary and cheers us on continuously when everyone else is absent.

Stay focused, stay in prayer and never take your eyes off of Jesus and His Word. You will always triumph in the Heavenly realm this way and the cares of this world will eventually fade away. Oh, of course, your children will still be around and your family, co-workers, etc., but once your focus is more on God than anything else, your vision will become much clearer, and your peace will get much stronger.

” Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy.”

1 Peter 1:8
